2010 Chevrolet Suburban
Quick Quote
OVERVIEW
A benchmark of full-size SUVs, the 2010 Chevrolet is abundantly roomy, capable and more efficient than ever. It is available LS, LT and LTZ models, with 2WD and 4WD, as well as 1500 and heavy-duty 2500 series. A pair of new exterior colors and USB ports for all of Suburban?s radios is new for 2010. Several interior and trim packages, streamlining the availability of popular features such as remote vehicle start, adjustable pedals and ultrasonic rear parking assist have also been made. A 6.0L V-8 with variable valve timing and FlexFuel capability in 2500 models is new.
The Chevrolet Suburban made its debut way back in 1936 and remains an ideal choice for a full-size SUV. It is one of the longest-running models sold in the United States. The spacious Suburban is suitable for families or those in need of rock-hard truck-based towing capability and class-leading passenger and trunk capacity. It can accommodate nine passengers with third-row seating and comes in as many as 18 variations. The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban is offered in half-ton and heavy-duty three-quarter-ton models that come in base LS, midlevel LT (with subcategories ? 1LT and 2LT) and the top-grade LTZ (available only in half-ton model) trim levels.
EXTERIOR
The exterior look is chiseled featuring new grills and a more aerodynamic appearance. The 2010 Suburban gets side assist steps, a 40/20/40 split-folding front-row bench seat, full power accessories (including six-way driver seat), dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable heated outside mirrors, XM Radio, Bluetooth wireless technology for select compatible phones, a CD/MP3 player, a trip computer, body-color, body-side moldings, and rear seat air-conditioning as standard features.
The LT adds fog lamps, color-keyed exterior trim steering-wheel-mounted, rear seat audio controls and front bucket seats with a center console. A number of packages are available based on the trims.
ENGINE
Three engine types are offered on the 2010 Chevrolet Suburban: the standard 5.3-liter Vortec V8 engine produces 310 horsepower in half-ton models; a 6.0-liter V8 generates 366 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque is optional in half-ton versions; and the standard 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine delivers 352 horsepower and 382 pound-feet of torque in three-quarter-ton models. A six-speed automatic gearbox is standard on all Suburban models. Buyers can choose either a two-wheel or four-wheel drive configuration.
SAFETY
Standard safety features include head curtain air bags, side curtain air bags, tire pressure monitor, anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes, GM?s StabiliTrak stability control system and several other features. Advanced steering and suspension allows the 2010 Suburban to avoid crashes more efficiently.
